友人に連れられ、建設中のサッカーシティを偵察に。周りはうっそうと茂る草木と廃墟？

ありました。６月開催なのに、周りの道路はまだ舗装中、スタジアムはほぼ完成か？ＦＩＦＡには３月末に引き渡さなきゃいけないらしいけど、大丈夫かなあ。

帰りにＭｅｒｏｒｓｅ　Ａｒｃｈという南アではおしゃれな街のＭＯＹＯというアフリカ料理屋さんで食事。この日はMiriam Makebaという南アの美空ひばりの様な大歌手のtribute liveをやっており、楽しい一日でした。

TRIP TO J-BAY DAY5

Good morning dogs. Two lovely dogs at breakfast.

Small, but most beautiful waves in this trip. An Australian friend in UK went crazy at this picture, missing waves in snowy London.

But waves went down toward evening.

Too small for them to paddle.

Weather in South Africa often changes. Rainbow after the shower.

The Billabong shop in J-Bay which rents boards as cheap as R100/day.

Can not help to be sentimental when I have to leave J-Bay. My trip for the Endless summer, seeking waves will continue.

American cars are popurar in SA too. Mustang, my dream.

Shelvy in padock.

A lot of Ford GT 40 still exist in SA.

The Legend Jim Redman came and got on truck with his RC181.

Porche 917, still echoes good sound.

But she was my heroine of the day. 50`s Chevrolet

Yes, purely mustle, meaningless, violent but can not help loving her.

本日はヨハネスブルグ近郊のツワルコップサーキットにてヒストリックカーレースを観戦。筑波サーキット程の小さなサーキットに、元少年達が集まりました。

ガレージに並ぶサニーに、いきなりアドネラリンが。

５１０！迫力があります。

おおお、２４０Z！！！日本車はある時代のモータースポーツシーンを彩っていた。きっとこれからも。

ヒストリックスポーツごった煮。なんでもありの状態。

サーキットの狼でピーターが操っていた3.0CSIだっけ。よくイラストを描いたものですが、実物を見るのは初めて。

Surf trip to J-BAY Day 3

Let me show you around the beach. Many surf inns lie on this Pepper St.
ビーチ周辺の宿の光景を少し。Ｐｅｐｐｅｒ　Ｓｔｒｅｅｔというかわいらしい名前の通りに、Surf Innが集中。

We stayed at African Perfection. The owner used to be an owner of Billabong and she created this nice villa from surfers point of view. All staff are female, furniture, ocean view are excellent.

今回はこのＡｆｒｉｃａｎ　Ｐｅｒｆｅｃｔｉｏｎにお世話になりました。Ｂｉｌｌａｂｏｎｇ　Ｊ－Ｂａｙの元経営者の女性がオーナーで、スタッフも皆女性。どの部屋からもビーチが眺められる様になっていたり、家具もセンスがあり、気持ちいい滞在になりました。

Ａｆｒｉｃａｎ　Ｐｅｒｆｅｃｔｉｏｎのバルコニーからの眺め。Supertubeにswellが入ったときはここからtubeに入るsurferが見れるのでしょう。

頭くらいのセットが。誰も乗っていないよう。

Surf trip to J-BAY Day 2

Moved down south to the "Point," where the size of waves is smaller than in Supertube.
翌日は少し南のＰｏｉｎｔというビーチへ。地形のせいでＳｕｐｅｒ　Ｔｕｂｅより1サイズ小さいとのこと。いい感じの看板。

強風の中、ノーズライドを楽しむ熟年サーファー。

Back to Supertube. You need good courage to enter tubes so close to reef.

Ｓｕｐｅｒｔｕｂｅを見下ろす光景。リーフギリギリのところでＴｕｂｅに入るんですね。

Dinner at the restaurant in the B&B. No doubt, you can enjoy meal at bay area with variety of seafood coocked in European way.
夜は宿泊先のレストランでシーフードグリル。魚介類は種類も豊富、調理方法はヨーロピアンなので食事はとても楽しいのです。

Surf trip to J-Bay day 1

PE airport, where Japanese representative team had a game at the FIFA confederation cup .
FIFAのコンフェデカップで日本代表も降り立ったPort Elyzabeth空港。


Finally found letters of J-Bayt after driving through cities and valleys.
山道を１時間位走ると、ようやくJ-Bayの表示。

A beautiful downview of the bay, where once was a Dutch colony. One of the most beautiful beach I ve ever visted.
かつてオランダ領だったことを偲ばせる、かわいらしく美しい眺め。これだけでも来た甲斐あり。

The Supertube, where a lot of legendary competitions are held.
あのスーパーチューブビーチ。こうして丘の上からばっちりサーファーのライディングを眺めるのです。

Strong wind and small sized waves making it not a good for surfing.

今日はものすごい強風なのと、サイズも小さく、コンディションは良くないとのこと。
